Sault College Men’s Hockey Team Earns Number One Ranking Heading into the National Championships in Dallas, TX

It was announced to the team, staff and a room full of supporters at Sault College on Thursday night that the Sault College Cougars Hockey team will enjoy the number one seed and get a bye into the ACHA National Championships which takes place in Dallas Texas next month. The Cougars overtook the University of Michigan in the final ranking of the season based on their incredible overall record 23 wins – 2 losses – 1 tie. The Cougars also boast the league’s top point getter Captain Ryan Vendramin, who compiled a remarkable 55 goals 41 assists in 24 games... more.

Sault College Students Shine At Special Olympics

Excitement was in the air at Sault College as some of our very own Special Olympians were celebrated for their outstanding performances in the recent 2019 Special Olympics Ontario Provincial Winter Games! Community Integration Through Cooperative Education (CICE) students Vincent Coccimiglio and Brandon Fortin competed in the games in curling and snowshoeing respectively, and Kelsey Barss was a flag bearer at the opening ceremonies. Vincent took home a bronze medal, while Brandon brought home both gold and bronze! Kelsey also wowed spectators during her figure skating performance at a recent greyhound game!... more.


Tri-Party Agreement Addresses Labour Shortage

Sault College, the F.J. Davey Home and the Sault Community Career Centre have entered a Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate on increasing the number of Personal Support Workers (PSW) in the Sault through local and international student recruitment and education. Each partner has a role to play in supporting the recruitment, education, employment and settlement needs of incoming PSW students.... more.

Sault College and Algoma University Sign 2+2 Pathway Agreements

Today, representatives from Sault College and Algoma University joined together in the new Sault College Welcome Centre to sign academic agreements that support enhanced student mobility between the College and the University. The expanded partnership between Sault Ste. Marie’s two post-secondary institutions establishes new, or enhanced, transfer pathways which maximize credit recognition while allowing students from a range of programs at Sault College who complete their diploma to seamlessly transition to Algoma University to complete a degree in a related subject area. more.


PLATO Testing Partners With Sault College To Enable Meaningful Careers For Indigenous Locals

In September, PLATO, a company that addresses the technology talent shortage in Canada by bringing training and employment to First Nations, Métis and Inuit across Canada, announced its intent to create a software testing lab in Sault Ste. Beijing Information Technical College Representatives Visit Sault College

Nine representatives from Beijing Information Technical College (BITC) in Beijing, China got the full Sault College experience during a ten day visit to Sault Ste. Marie and Sault College.
